EAC MISSION
SUNY Broome is one of 24 Entrepreneurship Assistance Centers in the State of New York offering one-on-one small business assistance, essential business management educational sessions, and business networking opportunities, local community connections, business model and business start-up plan development programs –
including the Entrepreneurial Assistance Center 60-Hour Program, and individual consulting and coaching by successful entrepreneurs and well-established business
owners, experts and consultants.
Darlene Kanuk is the Senior Staff Assistant for the SUNY Broome Entrepreneurship Assistance Center and will provide an overview of what the EAC has to offer for small
business entrepreneurs in the Southern Tier of New York.

Since 2010, Darlene has been working for SUNY Broome Community College in a position that has her surrounded by people with a dream, the dream of starting their own business! Those entrepreneurial thinkers that take their passion, energy and expertise to build a successful business for themselves, their families, and for the community through hiring of employees. Working with the Binghamton Local Development Corporation as part of the Broome-Triad, which is grant funded by NYS Empire State Development, Darlene administers a 60-hour entrepreneurial training program whereby entrepreneurs write their business plan for a successful business! She also assists Minority/Women Business Enterprises apply for their New York State certification for being able to work on State contracts. She hosts a monthly Client Advisory Group virtually of local small business supporters; bankers, economic development and planning advocates, small business owners, and others that want to share their knowledge of small business development and help answer questions and possibly refer to subject matter experts that can help them grow and expand their business. Darlene’s recent focus has been in administering a grant for New York State and the COVID-19 Pandemic Small Business Recovery Grant. Helping get the word out to those that qualify - free money for businesses affected by the COVID pandemic.
